How Do I Set Up A WordPress Blog
How Do I Set Up A WordPress Blog
I see that many people encounter problems in setting up a WordPress blog in their own domain (also known as a self-hosted WordPress blog). With that, what I’ll be sharing with you in this article is a step-by-step guide that you can follow through to set up your very own WordPress blog.
You may be asking me about the difference between a self-hosted WordPress blog and a free blog from WordPress.com – The main difference is that if you are using a free blog from WordPress.com, you are not allowed to use it for marketing purposes. However, if it’s a self-hosted WordPress blog, then you can promote other peoples’ products and services (or selling your own).
Before you can set up your own self-hosted WordPress blog, you will first need to have your own domain name (you can get one in Namecheap – which costs less than US/year) and your own hosting service (you can get one in Hostgator – which costs less than US/month for a Hatchling plan).
Step #01 – Accessing Your Domain’s Cpanel
The first thing you need to do is to log into your domain’s Cpanel.
You’ll be prompted to enter your user name and password before you can gain access into it.
Step #02 – Locate “Fantastico De Luxe”
After you’ve accessed your domain’s Cpanel, you need to locate and click on this icon called “Fantastico De Luxe”. – It’s in “Fantastico De Luxe” that you need to go to in order to install your WordPress blog.
Step #03 – Select “WordPress ” Under Blogs
What you need to do once you have accessed Fantastico De Luxe is to locate and click on the link called “WordPress” under the category “Blogs” (it is located on the left of your screen, where all the menu items are).
Step #04 – Select “New Installation”
After you’ve selected to setup a WordPress blog, you’ll see a menu on your right – You need to click on the link “New Installation” to start a new installation.
Step #05 – WordPress Setup Information
Next, you will see the following page – Where you need to enter some information about the blog you are going to set up:
Install In Directory – If you do not specify anything here, your WordPress blog will be installed in the root directory If you like your blog to be installed under the directory “blog”, then you need to specify “blog” (without inverted commas) here.
Administrator User Name & Password – You need to set up an account to access your blog.
Admin Nickname – What you want to be known as when you post blog entries in your blog (this is what your “Author’s Name” will be.
Admin Email – Specify your email address here.
Site Name – Name of your blog.
Description – A simple, 1 line description on what your blog is about.
Once you’re done filling up the details, simply click on the “Install WordPress” button below to proceed.
Step #06 – Setup Confirmation
Before your blog is being set up, you are required to confirm whether the information you’ve entered is correct.
If the information is correct, simply click on the “Finish Installation” button to install your WordPress blog.
Step #07 – You’re Done!
You’re done! Now, you can following the instructions to access the admin area of your WordPress blog.
I hope you find this step-by-step tutorial useful and hope that you manage to follow it and get your WordPress blog up.

This is exactly what I need, but I can't seem to get it to work. The temp.ddf file is created, but it doesn't list any files. The folder I want to archive is c:testzip and I've confirmed it has files in it. I'm calling it via..
makeDDF.bat testcab c:testzip
makecab /F temp.ddf
The summary then says 0 files created. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
Charlie
PS – Here's what the temp.ddf file looks like…

I always leave up the Powered by WordPress link in the footer.
But I change anything else. The blogroll is a list of links that no one really needs, so put your own or delete it.
I change/move around anything my heart desires.
WordPress should be an option that every business owner seriously considers when building or redesigning their website.
For the sake of more control and customization, business owners should consider finding a suitable host and run the free WordPress install from WordPress.org. Many of the bigger hosts now have automated WordPress installs that take less than 5 minutes to install.
I've written a 50+ page ebook guide to help business owners build and maintain a WordPress site called The Small Business Guide to Building & Managing a Website: The Power of WordPress

">You can’t tell me the Pentagon has some archaic accounting system that they can’t explain where the money went. The problem is that each individual department and sub department knows where their money went, the problem is that there is no top level view. You can’t just ask "how much did we spend on toothbrushes last year and find out. You’d have to ask each and every department how much they spent on toothbrushes."
sì però pure ‘sta mancanza di relazione e consequenzialità tra quanto te ne occupi e i risultati che ottieni è il melone di quel prosciutto che è l’esseresestessismo, eh.
I was not aware you had posted a blog?

As for the Yahoo profile I think once it's up it's there forever more.
You can hide it (go into settings) or negate it to nothing by wiping it clean but I don't think there's a simple way of completely deleting a Yahoo profile once it's created.
I could be completely wrong of course?

Alternatively, if you can get to the Dashboard, go to Settings/General and tell WordPress that you want a different Site Address.
(Example: My WP install is at somedomain.com/wp, which is duly reported as "WordPress address," but the Site Address is at somedomain.com. This way, you don't have to move anything, and WordPress will handle incoming.)
Well, I suppose that would be because Abigail and the girls began accusing others of witchcraft after they had been discovered dancing naked in the woods and thus, sinning. Abigail also engaged in an affair with John Proctor. Those they were accusing were completely innocent of what they'd been accused of, and the accusers were the furthest thing in the world from being holy…they were bearing false witness.

this chick is PISSED and is whining like nobody’s business. The moderator (my friend) posted a long message verrrry nicely explaining she started this league as a learning experience for everyone and that we can’t make up rules about voting to lock people out after the fact. Pissed off chick wrote an even angrier message saying she disagrees and if "if a situation such as this keeps occurring and affects my chance of getting into the play-off’s, I will be upset and not quiet about it."
